Carlos Sainz remains 'relaxed' amid Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari rumors
Sainz insists he's in no rush to make a decision on his future
Sainz has been linked with a move to Ferrari to replace Hamilton, who is out of contract at the end of the 2023 season
Carlos Sainz has said he is "relaxed" about his future despite speculation linking him with a move to Ferrari. The Spaniard is out of contract with McLaren at the end of the 2024 season and has been linked with a move to the Scuderia to replace Lewis Hamilton, who is out of contract at the end of the 2023 season.
Sainz, who is currently fourth in the drivers' standings, said he is not in a rush to make a decision on his future and that he is focused on the current season.
"I'm relaxed about my future," Sainz said. "I'm focused on this season and I'm not thinking about anything else. I'm happy at McLaren and I'm not looking to move anywhere else."
Sainz's comments come amid reports that Ferrari is interested in signing him to a long-term contract. The Scuderia is keen to replace Hamilton, who is expected to leave the team at the end of the 2023 season.
Sainz is one of the most highly-rated drivers on the grid and would be a valuable addition to any team. He has won two races in Formula 1 and has finished on the podium 10 times.
